Day 11: Put Out Bowl To Harvest Rainwater

Day 11: Put a Bowl on Fire Escape to Harvest Rainwater

Since it’s pouring here today, I decided put a bowl out on my fire escape to collect some rainwater. The concrete gets plenty of water with everyone always watering it.

I’ll likely use the water to then water my plants, but that’ll be for another day.

According to GreenHomes, The average U.S. household uses almost 150,000 gallons of water per year with up to 50% of water going to landscaping during summer months.

What was your simple green act for the day?

  • Wow, why didn't I ever think of this? It really is so simple, LOL.

Haha. That's the purpose of all this Sarah. Most of this stuff is simple, but we just don't think of it.

Hoping to be able to get enough to water them. I spent about 2 mins finding the "perfect" spot for the bowl.
