Day 246: Made My Own Kombucha

Day 246: Made My Own Kombucha

I brewed up my own kombucha. At $4 a bottle, or whatever ridiculous amount they are charging, why not make my own? It’s mad simple. Here are the instructions on how to make kombucha.

I’m very into growing, planting and harvesting my own food.

Here are two of the main advantages of making your own kombucha – you know what went into making it (eliminating the use of harmful chemicals) and the transportation and packaging resources are eliminated. I’m reusing the same mason jars over and over again.

If anyone is interested in getting their hands on some kombucha mushroom and starter, hit me up.

What was your simple green act for the day?

Nothing to do with the Kombucha. I mean you could do a basket, a table-lamp, anything you´re in need using old newspaper/magazines. See some examples:

You´re so creative and habil. I would like to see you, before ending day 365, doing any handcraft by using straws made of old newspaper. Like it?

  • Wouldn't the liquid cause the paper to sag and not hold form?

    what the hell is kombucha?

  • Kombucha is a fermented tea. It's supposed to have all of the beneficial gut bacteria. It sells in the store for $4 or so a bottle. You can def save money by making your own.
