Day 260: Packed Fridge With Food

Day 260: Packed Fridge With Food

Went to the farmers market and packed up the refrigerator with food.

According to TerraPass, “Items in your fridge have been already been cooled, so they help to keep the overall temperature down when you open the door. The more of them, the better.”

What was your simple green act for the day?

oh but you must keep your fridge clean, it looks dirty. Or you can try a mini one, so you always have fresh food and still go green.

Wiping the fridge with plane vinegar can clean the fridge perfectly, removing the food odor from plastic walls as well!
    ... and it's super-greeeeeen! :D

I know this has been up a while already, but I wanted to add my 2 cents :) I've always heard that you should pack the freezer, but leave air space in the fridge because it needs air circulation to work correctly. Things will go bad faster too without air circulation. Or so I thought!
  • That's interesting. Never thought of it that way. Thanks for makin me think...Hmm....
  • Wow. This one I didn't have in mind.
By knowing this, I can give another hint - Do weekly and monthly schedule of what are you going to eat. That way, besides keeping the fridge loaded, you don't buy more than you need.

    []'s!
  • Thanks for the tip!
