Day 264: Reused Plastic Jar to Make Fruit Fly Catcher

Day 264: Reused Plastic Jar to Make Fruit Fly Catcher
I made a fruit fly catcher reusing a plastic jar that was filled with some food scraps. It was then sealed with reused plastic wrap and a rubber band. Small holes were poked in the top.

The stupid ass fruit flies get in, but don’t know how to get out. I made this since my counter tops are too small for a fruit fly catcher made out of a soda bottle.

The jar will then be returned to the vendor at the farmers market and the food will be put into the compost.

Besides giving second life to these items, it also eliminates the need to use any nasty insect sprays. These insecticide sprays can be fatal according to the EPA.

What was your simple green act for the day?
