Day 299: Put Used Coffee Grinds in Freezer to Neutralize Odors

A container of used coffee grinds was put into the freezer to help neutralize odors.

Coffee grinds can also be used in a homemade facial mask, to clean oily dishes, deter ants, remove odors from hands and to touch up wood furniture.

Check the Household Products Database from the US Department of Health and Human Services for products to see the possible health effects.

  • That is a great tip, any idea exactly how that works? I guess the coffee somehow absorbs the chemicals?

    Certainly a great way to recycle coffee grinds, and if it really helps keep the freezer smelling good well worthwhile.
